Fudgy Chocolate Brownies (TM5, TM6)

If you're like me, then the mere mention of fudgy chocolate brownies is enough to make your mouth water and your heart skip a beat. These delicious treats are the perfect combination of gooey, chocolatey goodness and pure indulgence. But where did they come from? And what are the options for making them even more decadent? Let's dive in and find out!

Legend has it that the first fudgy chocolate brownies were created in the late 19th century when a housewife in Maine, USA, forgot to add baking powder to her chocolate cake batter. The result was a dense, fudgy creation that became an instant hit. Since then, the recipe has evolved and been perfected to become the delicious treat we know and love today.

Nowadays, there are countless ways to customize your fudgy chocolate brownies to suit your taste buds. You can add nuts, chocolate chips, caramel, peanut butter, or even bacon (yes, bacon!) to take them to the next level. Some people like them with a little bit of sea salt sprinkled on top, while others prefer to top them with a scoop of ice cream or a drizzle of hot fudge sauce. The possibilities are endless!

One of the best things about fudgy chocolate brownies is their versatility. They can be enjoyed on their own as a snack, served warm with a scoop of ice cream for dessert, or even used as a base for other desserts like chocolate brownie cheesecake or brownie trifle. They're also great for sharing with friends and family (although, let's be honest, you might not want to).

In my opinion, fudgy chocolate brownies are a delicious treat that have been enjoyed for generations. Whether you like them with nuts, chocolate chips, or just plain and simple, there's no denying their appeal. So go ahead and indulge, my friends. Life is short, and there's always room for a little bit of chocolatey goodness.

Alright! Let's start making fudgy chocolate brownies using a Thermomix:

Total Time: 1 Hour

Serving: 12 Brownies

Ingredients:

  1. 200g dark chocolate, chopped

  2. 200g unsalted butter, diced

  3. 250g caster sugar

  4. 4 large eggs, room temperature

  5. 120g plain flour

  6. 30g cocoa powder

  7. 1/2 tsp salt

  8. 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Line a 20cm square cake tin with baking paper.

  2. Place the chocolate and butter into the mixing bowl. Melt for 3 minutes at 50°C on speed 2, or until melted and smooth.

  3. Add the sugar and mix for 10 seconds on speed 4.

  4. Add the eggs, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix for 20 seconds on speed 5, or until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and smooth the surface with a spatula.

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center of the brownie comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.

  7. Allow the brownie to cool completely in the tin before slicing into squares and serving.

Enjoy your delicious fudgy chocolate brownies!

Tips:

  • Use good-quality dark chocolate for a rich and intense chocolate flavor.

  • Make sure the butter and eggs are at room temperature before using, as this helps to create a smoother batter.

  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Mix until the ingredients are just combined to avoid a dense texture.

  • Adjust the baking time to achieve your desired level of fudginess. If you prefer a slightly gooey center, reduce the baking time by a couple of minutes.

  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the tin before cutting them. This allows them to set and makes it easier to slice them into neat squares.

  • For an extra indulgent touch, serve the brownies warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of melted chocolate.

Now, get ready to enjoy some irresistible fudgy chocolate brownies made with your trusty Thermomix!
